You probably know that part of what we do in my office is considered “cosmetic dentistry.” This means that we basically work really hard to make sure you have the best smile anywhere, but there’s a lot going on behind the scenes that we don’t always show off. That’s why when I saw this great description of cosmetic dentistry, I thought you’d get some mileage out of it.
After all, your teeth matter — but so does your understanding of what we’re doing to keep them healthy and bright. I always hope that I explain each procedure well, but it can be overwhelming and that’s understandable.
Have any thoughts on the subject?
I found this really great and thorough description of cosmetic dentistry on the web and I hoped any questions you have that I’ve not been able to answer to your satisfaction can be cleaned up using it. There’s a lot to cosmetic dentistry, much that no one expects you, the patient, to have to worry about too much. For example, do you want to know how I make your replacement teeth?
Maybe you do, maybe you don’t, but I think in general most people just want to get in and out at the dentist and not hang around too long. We know you’re not exactly thrilled with being in the dental chair, having x-rays or any of that. But, in the long run, it makes our jobs a lot easier, keeps your mouth healthy and creates an incredible smile.
